Fall Out of Negativity

It is officially Fall. The month of October marks a significant period for us as we go through a momentous time in our history. There is so much angst in the world that keeps the fear button active, which puts an ongoing strain on your nervous system. We need to stop the inner tug-of-war with the world and use our precious energy to focus on what is supportive and feed our positive state of mind and heart. Not always easy, I know.

It is crucial for us to practice being in the moment. Wishing for things to be different and getting mad about it isn't going to change things. We all have a long list of things we feel disappointed and frustrated about, but it's so unproductive and unpleasant to be stuck there. We are being pushed out of our comfort zone in a big way. If we stop wasting our energy trying to make the old fit the new circumstances, we can embrace the opportunity to get out of the customary. Then, we can discover creative solutions. Then and only then can you stop feeling stuck and free yourself from the pain of the frustrations.

This shift requires you to take charge of your mind to focus on what you do want. It requires daily self-care and self-healing. The habit of cultivating inner peace daily can go a long way to creating a more peaceful world. There is a beautiful bumper sticker quote I love: "BE THE CHANGE YOU WANT TO SEE." Gandhi has been attributed to saying this but what he said was more complex:

"We but mirror the world. All the tendencies present in the outer world are to be found in the world of our bodies. If we could change ourselves, the tendencies in the world would also change.

As a man changes his own nature, so does the attitude of the world change towards him. This is the divine mystery supreme. A wonderful thing it is and the source of our happiness.

We need not wait to see what others do."

Right now, there is so much in the news that is pulling us into a state of worry. Things are happening around us every day that make us feel anxious, angry, fearful, and frustrated. If we are not mindful, those feelings can pull us farther away from what we want to experience in life.  When we don't take control of our thoughts, life can feel out of our control and we feel like a powerless victim of circumstance. It keeps us stuck in survival mode, which activates all the old beliefs of scarcity and limitation. From this state of being, it's almost impossible to listen to our intuition and make supportive choices. The habitual feeling of overwhelm takes over. We feel dis-heartened – disconnected from the possibilities of Peace, Love and Joy, which is truly what we all want.

Your soul mission at this auspicious time, should you wish to accept it, is to bring more light into the world by being the calm in the storm. We have a cosmic invitation to choose to be part of the global solution. Of course, inner Peace isn't going to fix all the problems of the world, but it's a start to co-creating positive change for the higher good of ALL.  It will also help you avoid the perils of stress, keep your immune system healthy and give you the resilience to meet the challenges with a clear mind and peaceful heart.

One of the best things you can do for yourself and the people in your life is to claim the first 30 minutes of your day. Give your mind, heart, and spirit your full attention.
